The University has had a change in supplier to its Master Vendor for temporary agency staff provided through TempZone.
The contract with the current supplier, Reed, ends on Friday 2 September. The new supplier is Adecco, from Saturday 3 September.
For TempZone bookings, the general booking procedure will remain the same, so please continue to contact tempzone@nottingham.ac.uk
As a reminder, all temporary recruitment agency bookings for the University need to come via TempZone and departments should not raise purchase orders themselves. Visit Workspace to find out more.
For existing agency workers, the University and Unitemps are working with Reed and Adecco to ensure that all bookings are transferred across smoothly. Please note, candidates currently in assignments should not be affected by this transition.
There will be a change to the online timesheet system. Further detailed information and instructions from Adecco will follow in due course.

The University of Nottingham has been shortlisted as Times Higher Education’s University of the Year.
Affectionately known as the Oscars of UK Higher Education, THE Awards are designed to showcase why and how institutions continue to prosper.
The University has also been shortlisted for Excellence and Innovation in the Arts – celebrating the pioneering work that is taking place in Higher Education institutions to promote the arts.
For the University of the Year submission, achievements in a year that started with a devastating fire demonstrated resilience, resolve and vision. With the GSK Carbon-Neutral Laboratory for Sustainable Chemistry now risen from the ashes and the £150m fundraising campaign behind it having reached its goal a year early, there is much to celebrate.
The award nomination highlighted that the University had recently celebrated milestones globally – with both the 15th anniversary of the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus and the 10th anniversary of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China – and locally with our 250,000th graduate.
Developments in Widening Participation also showed the University’s efforts in improving accessibility for all. Our partnership with IntoUniversity saw three Nottingham Potential Learning Centres open. This, in partnership with primary, secondary, and summer school programmes, provided more than 79,000 contact opportunities to prepare young people for Higher Education.
In research funding, it was Nottingham’s most successful year ever, with grants worth £186m.
The scope of the University’s economic impact was also highlighted. The £1.1bn a year the University contributes to the UK economy cements its place as one of the East Midlands’ most significant institutions.
Vice-Chancellor of The University of Nottingham, Professor Sir David Greenaway said: “I’m delighted we have been shortlisted for THE’s University of the Year and for Excellence and Innovation in the Arts.
“This national recognition is testament to the hard work and dedication of staff across our campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia. Despite setbacks like the GSK fire, we continue to be at the engine room of the local economy and we are committed to our global vision, to lead world-class research and enhance teaching and learning of those around us.”
A judging visit is planned for early September before the winners are announced at a gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, on Thursday 24 November.

We are now reaching the exciting final stages of the George Green Library extension. Stock is currently being moved into the new building, and will be transferred by Tuesday 6 September.
The library will remain open and the books will be accessible throughout throughout the move, although there may be a short delay at times if any items need to be collected. The journals will return from offsite storage and in early September architecture books and journals will transfer in from the Hallward Library. Inevitably there will be some disruption as we move almost 5km of stock into place – Hallward and Greenfield Medical are the nearest alternative libraries if you need quiet study space during this period.
Unfortunately there have been some delays following the flood in June but we aim to have most of the building open for the start of session. The new George Green will offer a fantastic choice of study spaces for both individuals and groups, including 12 group study rooms, 20 individual study rooms and an assistive technology room. There will also be four language labs, a computer training room and an integrative learning room. There is already a silent study area on F floor reserved for postgraduates and academic staff which can be accessed by University card.
We will keep you updated over the coming weeks as we approach the full opening of George Green Library. In the meantime, you can keep up-to-date with developments at George Green Library by following @UoNLibraries on Twitter.

Grounds-keeping work will be undertaken at West Entrance from Tuesday 30 August until Thursday 1 September.
During the works, the outbound carriageway at the West Gate will be closed from approximately 8am until 3pm each day to allow space for the work, machinery and vehicles.
During the closure, the entry lane will be used as a “two way” lane with priority being given to traffic exiting off Woodside Road onto campus, and will be managed by the Security Team. Therefore, the West Entrance will remain operational, with only minor disruption.
If you have any queries, please contact David Beadle, Grounds Operations Manager, on extension 13605 or 07721 968186 or Stephen Garrod, Senior Security Officer, on extension 84630 or 07880 092711.

From Monday 19 September 2016 to Friday 31 March 2017 Station Road will be closed to vehicles while the road bridge over the railway line is demolished and rebuilt to facilitate the electrification of the Midland Main Line Railway.
The University and Students’ Union are keen to minimise the impact of the road closure on the villages of Sutton Bonington and Kingston on Soar, so drivers are encouraged to follow the signed diversion routes wherever possible.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists
A temporary footbridge will enable pedestrians and cyclists to continue using Station Road throughout the works. The only exception to this is Saturday 12 to Monday 14 November – when the existing bridge is scheduled to be demolished.
Changes to Sutton Bonington hopper bus service
The road closure means that hopper bus journeys between Sutton Bonington and Kegworth will be unable to operate as usual. Unfortunately, it is not possible to maintain journeys to/from Kegworth and also maintain the capacity and frequency of journeys between University Park and Sutton Bonington within the existing resource allocation.
Hopper bus journeys between University Park and Sutton Bonington Campus will continue to provide intercampus connectivity, however journeys between Sutton Bonington and Kegworth will be withdrawn for the duration of the road closure – with effect from Monday 19 September. Hopper buses will not stop at East Midlands Parkway station for the duration of the road closure.
Alternatives for travelling between Kegworth and Sutton Bonington campus include:
