Science Public Lecture Series: Tens of thousands of galaxies at a glance

Meghan is an observational astronomer who uses telescopes on the ground and in space to try to understand the largest structures in the Universe.

In this talk, Meghan will tell the story of how some chance weather on a mountaintop in Chile led to the work that would take up the next 15 years of her career.

She’ll introduce the audience to her favourite patch of sky and discuss how she and her team peeled back the structures within, layer by layer, to reveal a rich zoo of colliding galaxies, hidden star formations, dark matter, black holes – and a few surprises as well.

This talk is part of our Science Public Lecture Series. For more information about the series or to be added to the mailing list, please contact Hilary Collins or Chris Staddon
