Alumna Genevieve leads the team

Alumna Genevieve Jackson (Art History 2002) is the new Head of Alumni Relations.

Genevieve joins the University from Goldsmiths, University of London, where she was Alumni Relations Manager. Since graduating she has worked in the arts for The Photographers’ Gallery and the Royal Shakespeare Company as well as the University of Warwick.

During her time at Nottingham Genevieve was a student caller and enjoyed being part of the telephone campaign, speaking to alumni across the UK and the US, and she is a donor herself.

“My time at Nottingham was a transformative experience. Not only did I make lifelong friends but the opportunity to immerse myself in a subject I loved was so rewarding and I thoroughly enjoyed my three years studying. I remember being quite sad after my last lecture! The skills
I developed during my degree – a critical approach, confidence, a passion for learning – have all stayed with me and helped me enormously in my career since.

“I’m delighted to be joining the Alumni Relations team. As an alumna I have kept in touch with Nottingham and enjoyed attending alumni events over the years and the opportunity to develop the alumni relations programme even further is something I’m very excited about. I’m looking forward to meeting as many alumni as possible.

“Over the next few months we’ll be looking at how we can develop the alumni relations programme to provide more ways for you to connect with your University and alumni community. If you have any feedback or thoughts about what you’d like to see, then please do get in touch.”

Extra staff to boost global alumni relations

The Campaign and Alumni Relations team has recruited extra staff to increase the University’s alumni relations and philanthropic activities through our campuses in Malaysia and China.

At The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) Anita Stephen is Alumni and Donor Relations Manager working with Salinee Ganeson, Events and Alumni Officer. Meanwhile, Nottingham alumna Joanna Xu (International Communications 2008) is working with The University of Nottingham Ningbo China Education Foundation.

Anita is responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of the University’s fundraising programmes and support for the UNMC Education Foundation. With Salinee, she will also build our alumni relations with our UNMC graduates and be a focal point of contact. In China, Joanna will help organise fundraising events and will be an important point of contact for our donors and those wishing to support the UNNC Education Foundation.
