Our vision for technical talent — 6 months in

The University of Nottingham is a founding signatory to the Technician Commitment, a national initiative to ensure the visibility, recognition, career development and sustainability of technical roles and skills in UK Higher Education.

In order to deliver the University of Nottingham’s Technician Commitment, the Vice-Chancellor launched a new strategy in December 2018. Entitled ‘Our Vision for Technical Talent’, the strategy ensures profile and opportunity for Technical Services colleagues across the University.

We are pleased to invite you to a half day event on Tuesday 11 June 2019 that will provide:

  • an update on our progress to date, six months on from the launch of ‘Our Vision for Technical Talent’ from Professor Sam Kingman, the University’s Technician Commitment senior sponsor
  • an opportunity to hear from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost, Professor Andy Long on the development of the University of Nottingham’s new institutional strategy beyond 2020
  • workshop sessions that will enable colleagues to learn from and contribute to the latest university wide initiatives and engage in professional development
  • an opportunity for staff to network across discipline/geographical borders

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Spaces are limited so early registration is advised.
