Join Dr Susannah Lydon as she explores what plant fossils can tell us about evolution, ecosystems and climate change over deep time.
When most people think about fossils, they either think about dinosaurs, or shelly marine animals such as ammonites.
Fortunately, we also have a rich plant fossil record which tells us about more than 400 million years of life on land, through four mass extinction events (so far).
Plant fossils are preserved in some extraordinary ways, and studying them can tell us about evolution, ecosystems and climate change over deep time.
