Games of Remembrance 2018

The Games of Remembrance, through the power of football, brings World War 1 stories of courage and sacrifice alive, 100 years after the guns fell silent.

The Games of Remembrance is a project for anyone interested in football to find out about and remember football’s important role in World War 1. It includes an education and tribute programme, an exciting British Army vs German Armed Forces football match and a legacy for armed forces charities.

The pinnacle of the Games of Remembrance in 2018 are two football matches and spectaculars between the male and female British Army and the German Armed Forces.

These matches take place at the following dates and locations:

  • Women’s match:
    From 12 noon, Thursday 8 November 2018 (fanzone opens at 10am), Notts Country FC.
    Prices:

    • £5 for one adult and two young people (U16)
    • £2.50 for U16s, students, uniformed workers and OAPS
    • £5 extra adults (17+)
  • Men’s match:
    From 7pm, Thursday 8 November 2018 (fanzone opens at 10am), Nottingham Forest FC.
    Prices:

    • £10 for two adults and two young people (U16)
    • £2.50 for U16s, students, uniformed workers and OAPs
    • £5 extra adults (16+)

The events will include fan-zones, entertainment, exhibitions and music, and will be enjoyed by fans, families, VIPs and the football community, including sporting legends. Find out more at the Games of Remembrance website.
