The university will be hosting a public lecture around the psychological and physical impacts of endometriosis on Tuesday 16 July 2024 at 12 noon.
The lecture will be hosted by Dr Bryony Waters-Harvey and Dr Harry Harvey. Bryony is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Sheffield and Harry is a Biomedical Research Centre Fellow at the University of Birmingham.
Bryony and Harry will share the latest work in two highly relevant areas of research for anyone with an interest in endometriosis causes and impacts. Bryony will consider the psychological impact of endometriosis and how symptoms can be managed, whilst Harry will explore recent findings that suggest a possible bacterial link with endometriosis and the potential for probiotic therapeutic strategies.
The event will take place at the Sutton Bonington Campus (North Lab B07) and a Teams link will be available via our website for those who cannot join in person. A recording will also be posted on the project website after the event.
EndoConnect is a group for staff and students, aiming to raise awareness and provide support and information about endometriosis, a condition impacting over 1 in 10 women but often poorly understood, undiagnosed and rarely discussed.
