Professor Hon Wai Lam will present his Inaugural Lecture “Make or break: constructing molecules using transition metal catalysis”.

“Catalysis opens up new pathways to synthesise functional molecules required by society, and provides new opportunities to learn about fundamental chemical reactivity. This inaugural lecture will give an overview of research conducted by the Lam group in the use of transition metals to catalyse new chemical reactions, and will describe the people, influences and events that have shaped the research direction over time.”
