We are delighted to welcome Richard Blackmore, East Midlands Regional Director for the CBI and Professor Paul Mizen, Professor of Monetary Economics at the University of Nottingham, to this Ingenuity breakfast event, where we will be focusing on the theme of ‘Prosperity in a Time of Economic Uncertainty’.
The CBI represents the views of member businesses to policymakers to deliver a healthy environment for businesses to succeed, create jobs and ultimately, drive economic growth and prosperity. Its relationship with 190,000 businesses of all sizes across the UK gives it a unique insight into what Brexit means for UK prosperity. Richard Blackmore will be sharing some of this insight into how the current landscape of uncertainty is affecting small companies and some thoughts on what, if anything, businesses can do to prepare themselves to weather the storm of uncertainty.
Immediately after the Brexit vote, Professor Paul Mizen in the School of Economics, University of Nottingham and Professor Nicholas Bloom of Stanford University, the Bank of England and HM Treasury, set up a Decision Maker Panel survey of senior executives from across industries and from around the country to assess the impact of substantial UK and international economic uncertainty – the responses to which are now informing the Monetary Policy Committee, BEIS and HM Treasury. Since August 2016, this panel has collected information on how business conditions are changing – drawing from this, Paul will share some initial observations.
For anyone managing a business in 2018, this is an event not to be missed.
Join us for great networking, a hearty free breakfast and insights into a subject that is impacting all small businesses today.
