Wedding bells for UNMC couple

Two former UK students have married after meeting at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) on their year abroad.

For many students at the University, the opportunity to visit its campuses in Malaysia and China offers endless possibilities. For Nicola Fallows and Chintan Gandhi, their experience of studying in Malaysia in 2006 proved to be more than just educational.

Fast forward to May 2013 and they returned to the campus where it all began on the first stop of their honeymoon. The rest of their honeymoon was to be spent travelling around Malaysia, although this time they would be enjoying their travels in a little more luxury than that found on a student budget.

Professor Stephen Doughty, Vice-Provost for Teaching and Learning and a tutor of Nicola’s, said: “I’m absolutely delighted for this lovely couple and wish them all the best. To the best of my knowledge this is our first married couple to have met during a period of study abroad at UNMC. It is wonderful to see what can result from Transnational Education!”
