Joff is TV’s flying doctor

Nottingham alumnus Dr Joff Lacey (Medicine 2006) is one of the roving medical reporters on Al Jazeera Television’s new flagship health show.

The CURE features medical stories which “take you on a journey to the frontiers of world health from cutting-edge scientific breakthroughs to advances in affordable healthcare for those who need it most”.

In the first three episodes, anaesthetist Dr Lacey travelled to rural Zambia to report on the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital and to find out how the hospital’s medics are saving the sight and transforming the lives of patients. He told the story of nine-year-old Lucy Mwika as she underwent life-changing treatment at Zambia’s only paediatric eye hospital, with the help of surgeons from ORBIS.
