Putting on a show for May Fest 2013

The award-winning student-run New Theatre will lift the curtain for a sneak preview behind the scenes as part of this year’s May Fest celebrations.

It’s a chance for alumni and friends to meet the students and enjoy a tour of the new building during an important stage of its redevelopment. The New Theatre is a key project within Impact: The Nottingham Campaign, which is raising funds aimed at upgrading equipment throughout the theatre, developing an ongoing programme of professionally led workshops and enabling a national touring capability.

Broadcaster and University of Nottingham alumnus Matthew Bannister (Law 1978), who is championing the project, will be at the theatre during May Fest and the students will be performing excerpts from an adaptation of Frankenstein at 11.30am and 12.30pm. The theatre will be open to alumni and the public from 11am to 5.30pm on Saturday 18 May.

Following our recent appeal we have received wonderful memorabilia from our New Theatre alumni. Thank you to everyone for your contributions and a particularly huge thank you to alumni Teri Harman and Tony Ireland. Please keep the memorabilia coming.
