The dinosaurs are coming – help us hatch our baby dinosaur!

March 6th, 2017

A world-exclusive dinosaur exhibition is coming to Nottingham this summer. The ‘Dinosaurs of China’ exhibition will bring specimens never before seen outside of China, to the UK. The exhibition focuses on the evolution of feathered dinosaurs into birds.

Wollaton Hall will host the main exhibition, but there will also be a second free satellite exhibition at Nottingham Lakeside Arts, based here at the University. Lakeside wants to create a dino-legacy for Nottingham, and this is where we need your help.

We are hoping to raise £4000 to create an animatronic baby dinosaur which we can use to teach children all about dinosaurs. If we are lucky enough to raise a more than this, we plan to install a dinosaur dig in Highfields Park, where children can experience what it’s like to become a palaeontologist and uncover dinosaur bones!

There are lots of rewards on offer on the Dinosaurs of China Crowdfunder webpage, starting from just £5 for a Tweet out, to £20 for a special dinosaur poster, £40 for a ‘Family Stroytelling Session’, £50 for a VIP ticket and, if you want to treat your children to a very special birthday party there’s even a Dinosaur themed package available. Any amount donated will be gratefully received and used to create a unique dinosaur legacy for Nottingham, based at Nottingham Lakeside Arts.
