Our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals

November 17th, 2023

The university’s commitment to helping secure the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is highlighted in new online resources.

The goals are a call to action to work together to achieve a safer, fairer and more sustainable future.

New webpages, a video and downloadable report highlight how we are tackling the 17 SDGs across four areas:

  • Our research
  • Our teaching and learning
  • Our engagement and impact
  • Our policies and operations

We hope these resources will be useful in communicating the university’s commitment to sustainability in all that we do.

Professor Robert Mokaya OBE, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Global Engagement, said: “I am delighted to highlight how the university is aligning its activity across these areas in support of each of the 17 goals.

“By mapping our activity to the SDGs, we further focus our commitment to transform lives and strengthen partnerships to support resilient, fairer communities in the UK and across the world.”
