Fireside chat with Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor: having challenging conversations

March 2nd, 2021

Hosted by Dr Max Biddulph, join Vice-Chancellor Professor Shearer West CBE and Chancellor Baroness Lola Young OBE as they reflect on their own experiences of challenging conversations and discuss how self-reflection helps to acquire new awareness.

Challenge can be encountered not only through conflict but also in more nuanced forms such as the sharing of different perspectives.

It is the day to day lived experience that forms a key dimension of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in our University community.

Join in on Wednesday 10 March 2021 as this fireside chat will explore how our experiences and insights relating to EDI issues are acquired through having challenging conversations and will ask the question of how EDI institutional practice can harness the learning acquired from these conversations.

This event forms part of our first University of Nottingham virtual diversity festival is open to staff, students and alumni offering access to over 30 virtual events designed to ‘embrace and celebrate difference’.

Visit our diversity festival web hub to find out more and book onto events.
