Midlands Viking Symposium

The twelfth annual Midlands Viking Symposium will be held  in Nottingham on Saturday 23 April 2016.

The theme will be ‘Interpreting the Viking Age’ and there will be talks on saving the Oseberg ship with science, stable isotopes, place-names around the Viking diaspora, Viking Yorkshire, and remembering the early medieval past in Iceland. Download a printable flier (pdf), or view a provisional programme with timings (pdf). There will also be a resident craftsman talking about making Viking replicas.

The cost of the symposium is £30, including lunch and refreshments, or £20 for students/unwaged. Please register by Tuesday 19 April using the University’s online store.
