One of UK’s leading new music ensembles, Icebreaker returns to Nottingham Lakeside Arts with a programme showcasing music from six leading female composers, featuring the premiere of a new work by the University of Nottingham’s own Elizabeth Kelly, Assistant Professor in Music Composition.
Elizabeth Kelly has already had a richly diverse career as a composer. She completed her B.A in music at Yale and earned a Ph.D. in composition from the Eastman School of Music. Her works have been performed in prestigious locations including Carnegie Hall and Tanglewood Festival. Kelly has been recognised with two ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composers Awards, and she was awarded 1st Prize at the 2011 Young Masters XXI competition in the Netherlands.
