On Wednesday 11 May Deputy Vice-Chancellor and project sponsor Karen Cox announced the decision to phase the implementation of the new system.
Work on the new Student Service Centres remains on track and these are due to open in August. However, as the new IT system progressed through testing, a number of issues emerged, which need to be rectified to ensure that the system functions as planned. Therefore the implementation of the IT system will be phased while these issues are resolved.
This means that different elements of the system will come online at practical points throughout 2016 and 2017. This applies to the UK, China and Malaysia. The decision is a result of discussions between Project Transform Programme Board, University Executive Board and Audit and Risk Committee.
