New online guide to centrally bookable teaching rooms

Information Services Campus IT Support have created a brand new online guidance service for all users of centrally managed teaching spaces.

- Have you ever booked a room for teaching or an event and wished that you could find out more about the room and its facilities?
- Have you ever wondered how to make all that technology in our teaching rooms work at its best for you?
- Have you ever wished that you could browse a catalogue of the bookable rooms, so you could compare before you book?
- Have you ever wished you could send details of a room you booked on behalf of a colleague, perhaps visiting from another institution, so that they could be better prepared before they arrive?
The new service aims to address all of these points and more, and is also being integrated with the Syllabus Plus room booking system and the individual guidance for each room will also be linked to from your room bookings.
The new service has been built on the Xerte Toolkits platform using a responsive design that works seamlessly on all computers and mobile devices.

Good Morning,
These guides are really useful, but as far as I can see you can’t do what it says in the title via these pages i.e. book rooms. They are a very useful guide to the room and how to use the facilities in it, although in the room details information on capacity would be useful. It would be a shame to see this great resource underused because it isn’t clear what it actually is.

Hi Chris, thanks for your comment. Please accept our apologies for any confusion – to book a room, you will continue to use the existing room booking service, and this guide complements this by offering a guide to what is available in each room. We have amended the article and title to make this clearer. Thank you also for raising the point about about capacity – we have passed this back to Information Services, who will look at implementing this.
