Following the departure of Transformation Director, Andrew Kemp, in August 2016, the University appointed a new Transition Director to lead Project Transform. Ian Leitch began his role on 15 August and, after working alongside Andrew Kemp, has now taken leadership of the development and implementation of the new systems and processes.
Ian joins the project following recent changes, the most significant of which is the decision to phase its implementation. He is working closely with the Project Transform, Information Services, Student Services, External Relations, Finance, Strategy Planning and Performance, Libraries Research and Learning Resources, UNMC and UNNC teams to ensure adequate provision of support and minimal disruption to service delivery as we adopt the changes.
Ian’s experience on transformation projects and in the higher education sector made him an ideal candidate for this role. Ian recently led a transformation project for leading business directory Yell, and has previously worked within UCAS as their interim IT Director. Project Sponsor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Karen Cox said, “We are pleased to welcome Ian to the University in his role as Transition Director. Ian will be responsible for all of the activity in Project Transform and delivery of the technological solutions that we are producing. His invaluable experience in both IT and transformation projects will be an asset to our institution”.
With the new Student Services department now fully operational, Ian’s focus will be on ensuring that the University has the technology to support these operations, and the resources and knowledge to support the technology. Ian said of his appointment, “I’m thrilled to join the University at this exciting time in its journey. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across the institution to ensure that we have the knowledge and technology to provide both our staff and students with an excellent experience at The University of Nottingham”.
We will shortly be sharing more information regarding the phased implementation of Project Transform.
