Estates will be carrying out significant building works at Hallward Library from Monday 29 March – Monday 26 April.
Throughout this period there will be changes to the building capacity and facilities as well as ongoing noise disruption. Alternative study spaces and facilities can be accessed nearby at George Green Library and the Monica Partridge Building.

29 March – 1 April
- Level 1 will be unavailable for access to study space, printers and toilets.
- There will be significant noise disruption this week.
- Facilities on all other levels will be available, including Click and Collect, pre-booked study space, browsing, printing and toilets.
- The library will be closed from Friday 2 – April 5 inclusive.
6 April
- Levels 1, 3 and 4 will be closed for study space, browsing, printing and access to toilets.
- For access to books from these levels, please place a Click and Collect request via NUsearch.
- Level 2 will be open for Click and Collect, pre-booked study space, printing and access to toilets.
- Unfortunately, accessible toilets in the library will be unavailable – the nearest are at the Monic Partridge Building.
- There will be some noise disruption during this time.
7-11 April
- Level 1 will be unavailable for access to study space, printers and toilets.
- Facilities on all other levels will be available, including Click and Collect, pre-booked study space, browsing and printing.
- Toilets will be available only on Level 2 and nearby at the Monica Partridge Building.
- Unfortunately, accessible toilets in the library will be unavailable – the nearest are at the Monica Partridge Building.
- There will be some noise disruption during this time.
12-25 April
- Level 1 will be unavailable for access to study space, printers and toilets.
- There will be some noise disruption during this time.
