Funding call for LGBTQIA+ History Month 2024 celebrations

October 31st, 2023

As part of the university’s ongoing commitment to EDI, we are inviting applications to celebrate people within the LGBTQIA+ community, raise awareness of LGBTQIA+ history, and make progress towards a more equitable future.

LGBT+ History Month will be celebrated in February 2024, and the theme for 2024 is medicine. This funding initiative is designed to support multiple locally planned events/activities throughout the month.

Help us celebrate and recognise LGBTQIA+ History Month 2024

Up to £200 will be awarded to host local events or activities, with funding applications being assessed by the theme leads for LGBTQIA+.

Applicants are encouraged to seek matched funding from another source (for example, a School / Department/ Group or an external source).

For applications, please complete this form by Monday 04 December 2023.

Everyone who applies will be notified of whether they have been awarded funding later on 11 December.

Applications should indicate how the local event or activity is connected to our EDI Priorities for 2023/24. Applicants are also encouraged to consider the intersectionality of their events.

You can find inspiration from previous LGBTQIA+ History Month events here.

For any queries, please contact the EDI Coordinators.

We are asking anyone who wants to host an event or deliver a project for LGBTQIA+ History Month to complete the application form.

This is so we know about all the great activities and can offer any other support or advice you may need to make your event successful.

Hi

As an honorary doctor of the University I am happy to help groups with matched funding if required. Happy to talk with someone about this.

Best Wishes

David
