Children’s Brain Tumour Research: new internal funding programme

August 5th, 2015

A new competitive internal awards programme to support scientific and clinical brain tumour research projects at the University has been established thanks to a significant grant made by The Stoneygate Trust.

The Stoneygate Children’s Brain Tumour Research Fund incorporates two grant schemes: the Career Catalyst Awards and the Proof of Concept Awards.

A first call for proposals for both schemes has been issued, with applications invited by Wednesday 30 September 2015 to support projects led by researchers in any part of the University which aim to deliver a significant advance in the study of children’s brain cancer. This can be in any research discipline, and the Fund has a particular interest in supporting interdisciplinary work which takes an integrative approach towards understanding the causes, treatment and outcomes of childhood brain tumours.

All submissions will be peer-reviewed by an assessment panel comprising senior University academic staff and including esteemed external representation.

Detail on both schemes, along with application forms and contact details for queries, is available on The Stoneygate Fund webpage.
