A message from Dr Paul Greatrix, Registrar of The University of Nottingham.
Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to let you know that the University’s Executive Board (UEB) has decided to allocate an additional University closure day during the current academic year. This is in appreciation for the hard work and achievements of all our staff in what has been an exceptional year.
The one-off additional closure day will be on Thursday 22 December 2016, which means the last working day before Christmas for most staff will be Wednesday 21 December.
I am immensely proud and appreciative of the work that has taken place to achieve the progress we have seen this year. We’ve been named ‘University of the Year for Graduate Employment’ by The Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide, and shortlisted for the accolade ‘University of the Year’ not once but twice – by both the Good University Guide and Times Higher Education. In the National Student Survey (NSS) we achieved our highest ever results, with an ‘overall satisfaction’ rating of 89%. All these successes reflect the enormous amount of work that has been undertaken by colleagues in Schools, Faculties and Professional Services. See below for more good news stories from the University.
On behalf of UEB, I wish to add my thanks and hope that you enjoy this extra closure day over the Christmas break.
