Estates and Hospitality Team Focus

Estates and hospitality colleagues across the University of Nottingham are invited to a team focus meeting on Thursday 25 July 2019.

The day will include a variety of wellbeing and sport activities, as well as a barbecue, fairground attractions and food stalls.

In the afternoon there will be an estates talk and team award ceremony, with Linda Goodacre (Director of Estates & Facilities) plus guest speakers.

Agenda:

  • 8am-10am: Healthy breakfast/brunch – the marquee outside the David Ross Sports Centre
  • 10am: University Park guided walk – leaving from the marquee
  • 11am: Stand up paddle board taster sessions* (90 mins) – Highfields Boating Lake
  • 11.30am: Yoga Vinyasa Flow* (45 mins) – David Ross Sports Village Studio
  • 12pm: Health and nutrition talk by Sarah Ellis, Division of Food, Nutrition and Dietetics – the marquee outside the David Ross Sports Centre
  • 12.30pm: Tai Chi class (45 mins) – David Ross Sports Village Studio
  • 1pm: Stand up paddle board taster sessions* (90 mins) – Highfields Boating Lake
  • 1pm: University Park guided walk – leaving from the marquee

All activities are free of charge.

However please note that sessions marked * have limited numbers and are available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Please let your manager know if you would like to attend one of these sessions.

  •  9am-2pm: Head to the marquee for:
    • Pensions and retirement talk (12pm-2pm)
    • Computer drop-in sessions (e.g. help with MyView, IT queries)
    • Crime prevention information
    • Fairground attractions
    • Dr Bike (on-site bike maintenance)
    • Raffle
    • Food stalls
    • Ice cream van
    • Boditrax scans: scan your muscle and fat mass, and check BMI
    • Wellbeing and benefits stand
    • Stress bus
  • 3.30pm: Estates Talk and Award Ceremony Linda Goodacre, Director of Estates & Facilities plus guest speakers (the marquee)
  • 5pm: Healthy street food style barbecue and bar. Outdoor games, raffle prize draw and photo booth
  • 10pm: Close

Barbecue

Barbecues will be running in the morning and afternoon. Please let your manager know which barbecue you’d like to attend.

What to wear

Comfortable gym wear is ideal for all activities. Please bring a change of clothes should you take a dip!

How to book onto activities

This event is open to estates and hospitality team members at the University of Nottingham. All activities are free of charge. However please note that sessions marked * have limited numbers and are available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Please let your manager know if you would like to attend one of these sessions.

Note for managers

  • Managers should email Clare Rdzanek with the names of staff who would like to attend each activity session.
  • Managers should email businesssupportteam@nottingham.ac.uk with a list of colleagues attending the morning and afternoon barbecues.
