3MT® LIVE!

Have you ever wondered what researchers actually do?

Join us at 3MT® LIVE! to support our research students at this fun and fast paced event.

Ten postgraduate research students from a range of disciplines have just three minutes to tell you about the world-changing research they are working on right here in Nottingham.

They will be competing for the top prize and a spot in national and international 3MT® competitions and you can vote for your favourite presentation in the People’s Choice Award.

This year we are delighted to have Dr Christina Lee, Associate Professor in Viking Studies as our keynote speaker.

What is it all about?

Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a research communication competition developed by the University of Queensland in 2008, in which doctoral researchers have just three minutes to deliver an engaging presentation on their thesis topic, its originality and its significance.

The competition is now held at about 600 universities in 65 countries and counting.
