Works on Portland Hill – update


August 12th, 2015

From Thursday 7 August to 6pm Friday 14 August, the road on Portland Hill will be closed to traffic.

Deliveries to Portland Building will be maintained as the road will temporarily be two-way – after a delivery, the vehicle will have to turn around and follow the one-way system of Cut Through Lane to exit. Please see the map below for more details.

The bus stops on East Drive will not be in use from 7pm on Tuesday 4 August, and will run again from the morning of Saturday 15 August. In addition, the King’s Meadow and Sutton Bonington hopper buses and 34 service will not call at Portland Hill stop for the duration of the closure.

The nearest alternative bus stops are listed below:

  • King’s Meadow & Sutton Bonington hopper buses, 34 service – please use the bus stop by the Arts Centre
  • Royal Derby Hospital centre hopper bus – for the duration of the closure, the hopper bus to Royal Derby Hospital Centre will depart from Library Road bus stop (behind Portland Building on Cut Through Lane)
  • L12 service, St Peter’s Court service – please use the bus stop on Science Road
