Vest on a Quest – are you taking part in a run this year?

February 14th, 2020

If you’re taking part in a run in 2020, why not take our Vest on a Quest with you and help raise some money for the Nottingham Breast Cancer Research Centre?

From Malaysia to the Arctic Circle to… Clifton, the Nottingham Breast Cancer Research Centre’s (NBCRC) ‘Vest on a Quest’ travelled thousands of miles last year – and is returning for 2020.

Staff and students taking part in a run anywhere in the world between April and September are invited to wear the Nottingham Breast Cancer Research Centre vest and raise money for the vital research it carries out.

Last year’s runners raised almost £3,000 between them and we are looking to top that this year.

Organised by the University’s Campaign and Alumni Relations Office and supported by our Community Fundraising Officer, runners are invited to raise at least £60 sponsorship which will all go to support the work of the NBCRC. Our breast cancer researchers are working to:

  • Develop a blood test to detect cancer earlier
  • Stop breast cancer spreading throughout the body
  • Develop effective targeted treatments

If you are interested in getting involved, and happy to have your run featured on the Campaign and Alumni Relations Office’s social media channels, email supportus@nottingham.ac.uk or call Eleanor Alatorre on 0115 74 84978 with details of your run and whether you have a special reason for wanting to support the centre.

Follow the progress of our Vest on a Quest and read updates from NBCRC on Facebook.
