Campus Solutions upgrade now complete

December 12th, 2021

The upgrade to Campus Solutions is complete. Staff, students and applicants can now continue to use the system.

Please note the following points:

  • Some staff cannot see their Campus Solutions favourites. If your favourites are not visible, you can use the search feature in Campus Solutions to find navigation links. We are continuing to investigate this issue as a priority
  • The link for accessing Campus Solutions/MyNottingham is now https://hub.nottingham.ac.uk (ensure you use this full link, including ‘https://’ at the beginning)
  • The login screen has a new, more contemporary look
  • The link for the Curriculum Catalogue has changed. There is now one new link for all campuses (UK, China and Malaysia)

What changes will academic staff notice?

Academic staff can continue to use the academic part of Campus Solutions, the Academic Workcentre, as they previously did. The only difference they will notice will be that the tiles in the Academic Workcentre are a different colour, with new icons. The names of the tiles remain the same.

What changes will Administrative, Professional and Managerial staff notice?

Instead of accessing the menu from the top of the screen, Administrative, Professional and Managerial staff now need to follow these steps to access the menu:

  1. Click on the compass icon in the top right-hand corner
  2. Click ‘Navigator’

A new Help tile on the Campus Solutions homepage provides support information as staff start using the upgraded system.

What changes will applicants and students notice?

Applicants and students used two systems called MyNottingham:

  • The university’s student mobile app is called MyNottingham. This app and name remains unchanged
  • The student-facing part of Campus Solutions is also called MyNottingham. To avoid confusion between this and the mobile app, the MyNottingham part of Campus Solutions has been renamed to NottinghamHub

The new name ‘NottinghamHub’ was chosen by asking a focus group of students, along with consulting with various university departments and representatives from our China and Malaysia campuses.

Applicants and students now see a new homepage with a new set of square tiles, replacing the old hexagonal buttons.

We have held webinars to introduce staff to the changes that the new version of Campus Solutions brings – details of future webinars can be found on Workspace, along with introductory videos and recordings.

Systems that receive data from Campus Solutions stopped receiving updates from 9am Thursday 9 December – the data will be updated in these systems by 9am Tuesday 14 December (UK times).

Thank you for your support as we completed this essential upgrade. It enables us to develop, improve and simplify Campus Solutions in the future to meet our requirements. There are also tools in the new version that make working with the system easier for staff and students, and we will highlight these as we start using them over time.

If you find something that is no longer working in Campus Solutions but previously was, please raise an IT self-service request and when you enter the description, start it with ‘9.2 upgrade’. For any other issues, please raise these with your respective IT Service Desk as normal.
