University’s Registrar assumes leadership role in prestigious European network

October 9th, 2023

The university’s Registrar, Dr Paul Greatrix, has been appointed as the President of HUMANE (Heads of University Management & Administration Network in Europe), a prestigious European network that brings together university leaders, administrators, and professionals from institutions across the continent.

The appointment is a testament to Paul’s long term involvement in university management and administration. He will take up the role from Monday 16 October 2023.

HUMANE’s primary goal is to foster collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing among higher education professionals, promoting excellence in university management and administration.

Dr Greatrix has been involved with HUMANE for many years, including as a contributor to the Winter School and other residential school programmes, as well as a brief period as Round Table Chair and more recently, Board member.

Speaking about his appointment, he said: “I am delighted and honoured to take on the role of President of HUMANE.

“This organisation has a long history of facilitating collaboration and knowledge exchange among higher education leaders across Europe and I’m excited to be a part of that.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues to continue this tradition and drive positive change in our universities.”

Paul will be taking over from Calluna Euving, who leaves the University of Amsterdam and HUMANE to take up a role in the Judiciary in the Netherlands.
