University of Nottingham Staff Moves+ Challenge

December 1st, 2021

Don’t miss out on the University of Nottingham Staff Moves+ Challenge which will be running from Friday 3 – Thursday 9 December 2021.

What is the challenge?

We are challenging staff at the university to collectively walk from Nottingham to the North Pole. The total distance is 2,560 miles which equates to 5,120,000 steps (roughly 2,000 steps per mile). Ideally, we’d like a minimum of 100 staff members to get involved and are recommending each staff member contributes 70,000 steps across the course of the week. Spot prizes will be given out during the week and the department with the most staff involved will win a hamper to share.

How can you get involved?

If you haven’t already, download the Moves+ app – either through the App Store or the Google Play Store. Select University of Nottingham Sport as your institution and click ‘Create an Account’. Use your @nottingham.ac.uk email address and connect a tracker of your choice to enable activity tracking and allow you to earn points for your movement.

Once you’ve downloaded the app, make sure you join the UoN UK Staff group and then keep an eye out for the challenge. You can’t join before the start date so set a reminder for Friday 3 December 2021.

For further information on the app, the benefits of joining and our FAQs, please visit our dedicated Moves+ webpage.

If you are experiencing any problems, please email us and one of our team will come back to you.
