On Friday 17 June 2022, the university will hold the Power of Partnerships business conference to showcase all the ways in which we support local, regional, national, and global organisations and to identify opportunities for new partnerships.

We are encouraging everyone at the university to share details of this event with their external contacts and invite them to join us at the East Midlands Conference Centre for our inaugural open business conference. Discover how we can work together with businesses to drive research, teaching and impact.

Delegates will have the opportunity to hear from leading business leaders and politicians from across the region including Leader of Nottinghamshire County Council, the Rt Hon Ben Bradley MP.

The ‘open day-style’ event will be held at the East Midlands Conference Centre on University Park from mid-morning to late afternoon and will include key-note speakers, workshops, presentations, opportunities for networking and an exhibition to showcase our work with businesses.

A buffet barbeque lunch will also be available to participants. University staff, as well as external organisations, are most welcome to register and attend.

Our exhibition zones, supported by the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce, Institute of Directors Confederation of British Industry, MAKE UK and the Federation of Small Businesses, will give delegates the opportunity to find out how the university can support them – from becoming a supplier, accessing our students for placements and internships and developing staff, to hearing about funded programmes and engaging with our world-leading researchers who want to help solve their business challenges.

Aims of the event

The aim of the event is to get senior decision makers from companies in our region onto campus, to raise awareness of the beneficial opportunities for those companies that actively engage with an academic institution like the University of Nottingham, and to give those who are new to working with a university a better understanding of what we can do for them and what they can do for and with us.

Attendees will also have the chance to enter a prize draw which includes a free MBA module worth £3,500 funding towards a placement student, a UoN goodie bag and more!
