February 21st, 2022
Sustainability Action Week is taking place from Monday 28 February – Sunday 6 March 2022 and there are a host of events and activities encouraging staff and students to engage with environmental and social issues and make a positive change.
The university’s Sustainability Team and Students’ Union are teaming up with Nottingham Trent University and Students’ Union as well as Nottingham City Council to offer a number of events and share advice and guidance for sustainable living.
Highlights of the week include:
Sustainability Fair at University Park, Tuesday 1 March
Staff and students are invited to the sustainability fair to find out about some of the university’s sustainable initiatives and research as well as how you can get involved and take action. There will be a mixture of stalls from external organisations and internal groups within the university.
Garden session with herb planting, Saturday 5 March
Come along and see first-hand why sustainability is important with UoN’s Conservation Society.
Enjoy a day in our community garden, gain inspiration for your own, and get your hands a little dirty with some herb planting in pots you can take home.
Nottingham Climate Action Workshop, Thursday 24 March
This is an online collaborative workshop and panel discussion around addressing the impacts of COP26 to Nottingham’s own climate goals, and what we, as institutions, plan to do reduce carbon emissions.
Don’t forget to sign up to Green Rewards and get rewarded for the positive, sustainable actions that you take. We’ll have specific activities relating to Sustainability Action Week, as well as Fairtrade Fortnight which is happening from Monday 21 February – Sunday 6 March 2022.
