Support and guidance on remote onboarding and induction for line managers

Working remotely requires a new approach to how we onboard and induct new colleagues or those moving within the University. A cross-functional HR Team have developed a number of tools, support documents and guidance to help line managers and leaders navigate onboarding and induction remotely.

This includes:

  • A remote induction guide for managers, put together by a cross-functional team
  • A SharePoint site giving access to the new online staff welcome event, replacing the traditional face-to-face version
  • The Learning and Management Academy have enhanced their induction checklist of activities called ‘Getting Started‘ to help a new hire during day 1, week 1, month 1 etc of their employment [Moodle login required].
