Following the success of the Students’ Union Station Road campaign, works to install street lighting along Station Road will start on Saturday 21 February 2015.
A section of Station Road, from the junction with Kingston Lane to the crossroads with College Road/Melton Lane, will be closed to vehicles for approximately four weeks while Nottinghamshire County Council installs the lighting.
Access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists, although cyclists may need to dismount through sections.
As a result, hopper buses will be unable to stop at the Anchor Inn and Kegworth Marketplace. In addition, the hopper bus will be unable to stop at East Midlands Parkway on Fridays. On weekday mornings, hopper bus passengers can use the 8.50am Skylink bus from Kegworth to Sutton Bonington free of charge on production of a University card. Weekday evening and weekend journeys between Sutton Bonington and Kegworth will be operated by a replacement minibus.
