Sphere conference on Equality, Diversity & Inclusion: catch up now

On Tuesday 29 June, the university held its first ever Sphere conference on Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).

The conference was aiming to bring the university community together to share best practice and research in the field of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) , along with celebrating funded Sphere projects from 2019/2020.

The conference included:

  • A panel discussion chaired by Sam Hawkins (SU Liberations Officer). Panellists include Ian Kidd (Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy), Cheryl Ruse (Head of Operations – Precision Imaging Beacon, BAME staff network champion for Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences) and Operations and Facilities representative (TBC )
  • A talk about EDI through a Technicians’ Lens by Kelly Vere MBE (Director of Technical Skills & Strategy) and Jodie Chatfield (Technical Services Manager)
  • A talk about EDI in the Digital World and Public Engagement by Professor Louise Mullany (English), Dr Jacqueline Cordell (English) and Dr Claire Burrage (Physics)
  • Information about projects funded by the SPHERE Programme Board
