Social Media Policy for staff and students

December 15th, 2015

Our Social Media Policies offer staff and students guidance and direction on the use of social media while employed by or studying at The University of Nottingham.

While social media can offer many social, academic and professional benefits, there is an inherent risk attached to its use and these policies are in place to make you aware of the impact that misuse of social media can have on yourself, members of staff, students and the University’s reputation. We advocate the use of social media, but encourage a cautious and considered approach, while outlining the standards of conduct expected from employees and students at the University.

Log in to Workspace to view our Social Media Policy for Staff and our Social Media Policy for Students.

More information and guidance can be found at University Codes of Practice and Rules and The Student Charter.

I’m logged into Workspace as staff, but when I click on the ‘Social Media Policy for Staff’ link above, I get ‘You are not permitted to perform this operation’. Is there a problem with permissions?

I would love to read the Social Media Policy for Staff. However, Workspace tells me (after I log in) that I do not have permission to see the PDF (“Not permitted”). I can see the student one ok…

All staff should have permissions to see the above Workspace links, however when you first log into Workspace after clicking a link, you may see an error as mentioned above. If this happens, please return to this article and click the original link again while you are still logged in to Workspace. The links should then both work. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.

Best wishes,
Mike

Please can the permissions be changed on the staff policy. The student one is readable but the staff one is not.

“Not Permitted

You are not permitted to perform this operation.”

I have tried what was stated in the message of December 18th but that does not work.

Thanks,
Ian

Actually I’ve just seen that an answer is given in the comment by Jonathan Green, who suggests this link (which works):
