Resurfacing work to take place in early September: please plan ahead

August 31st, 2023

Sections of University Park campus will be affected by resurfacing work taking place between Monday 4 September and Friday 15 September 2023.

Some roads are in need of repair, and resurfacing is the best option to enable this.

While this work is underway, all  traffic along the roads will be subject to traffic management by the contractor.

This will cause disruption at busy times, and users may want to consider alternative options to access campus.

Resurfacing work will be taking place on the following dates and locations:

Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 September – Cripps Hill

Day works will begin to resurface the road between the roundabout with Cut Through Lane and up to near Lenton Hall Drive between 8am – 6pm.

One lane at a time will be closed so that two-way travel will be possible via the use of traffic management and stop/go boards.

This is likely to cause minor delays to travel times including all Hopper buses and Nottingham City Transport (NCT) 34 Bus service. Please see images below for more.

Wednesday 6 September – North exit fully closed

Day works will take place between 8am – 6pm. This only affects the North exit, the North entrance will remain open all day as normal.

Please use alternative West or South exits from the university.

The Jubilee Hopper bus service 903 that connects Jubilee Campus to University Park will be affected by this closure and will operate via a diverted route, with slight delays.

Monday 11 September to Wednesday 13 September – West entrance and exit

Both lanes between the access road to Willoughby Close and the main public roundabout (at junction with Woodside Road, University Boulevard and Broadgate) will be closed over night between 8pm – 6am on Monday 11 to Wednesday 13 September.

The road will reopen each day between 6am and 8pm for normal use.

Any evening or night-time users of David Ross Sports Village or people wishing to access the East Midlands Conference Centre and Orchard Hotel are being asked to find alternative routes into campus.

The NCT Bus service 34 will also have its evening services affected by the closure – please contact the bus operator for more information.
