Professor Sarah Sharples joins the Council of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council

Professor Sarah Sharples, the Faculty of Engineering’s Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange, has been appointed to the Council of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

Professor Sharples said: “EPSRC invests more than £800 million a year in research and training in engineering and the physical sciences and I’m honoured to take up this role.”

Professor Dame Jessica Corner, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange at the University of Nottingham, said: “Sarah’s appointment is testament to her passionate commitment to the delivery of research with real impact.

“As the Faculty of Engineering’s Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange, Sarah has already strong links with EPSRC in its role as one of our key funders and partners. This appointment is recognition of her grasp of the challenges and priorities in creating and supporting a landscape where research and innovation flourish.”
