Several events are taking place at Jubliee campus this month to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
If you’d like to lend your support, there are a number of opportunities to get involved:
Donate equipment and cakes for Wellbeing Cafés
The Jubilee Welfare Team are arranging Pop up Wellbeing Cafés for students on Tuesday 26 September and Wednesday 27 September.
These cafés are aimed at building community and getting students from different nationalities to talk to each other and hopefully start building friendships across cultures.
Sale of tea and cake during the day will also help raise money for Macmillan. The Welfare Team are on the search for traditional-style teacups that could be donated or loaned for use in this event – as well as other equipment such as cake stands, tea cosies or sugar bowls. The team would also be delighted if any keen bakers would be willing to donate cakes, cookies or biscuits which could be sold at the cafés.
For more information please email Cherie Murray.
Take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning
Staff can take part at this annual event on Friday 29 September as a volunteer or as a visitor.
The coffee morning will be held in the Foyer, Exchange Building throughout the day, with visitors welcomed to take a seat and purchase a beverage and/or a snack. It’s a great excuse to meet new colleagues, make friends and hear their stories — all whilst raising money for charity.
Volunteers are also needed in various roles during the day — from helping run the stall to baking and donating treats.
For more information please email Cherie Murray.
Support Rachel’s fundraising as she ‘Braves the Shave’
Our colleague Rachel Edwards, Student Service Assistant at Jubilee campus, has volunteered to shave off her hair on Friday 29 September to help raise funds for Macmillan!
If you’d like to support her with a donation, please visit her fundraising page.
