March 6th, 2015
The George Green Library will be closed from Monday 13 April to Sunday 19 April inclusive.
This closure is to allow for all books and equipment to be moved into the new building, so that refurbishment work on the existing library can begin.
From Monday 20 April normal service will resume in the brand new section of the Library.
24/7 opening will start in the new library from the night of Monday 20 April.
Borrowing books
To help minimise any inconvenience, undergraduates and taught postgraduates will be able to borrow up to 40 ordinary loans from George Green from Monday 16 March to Sunday 12 April. These books will be issued with the normal return dates but may be recalled earlier if reserved by someone else.
Short loan books borrowed from George Green on Friday 10 April will be available for an extended period to Tuesday 21 April.
During the closure period, no books can be borrowed and no reservations for George Green books will be actioned until we re-open.
Reservations and inter-library loans
Reservations made in advance of the closure and inter-library loans will be available for collection at Hallward Library during the closed period.
Returning books during the closure
Items due for return during the closure will need to be returned as usual. Books can be returned at any time in the book box at George Green or to any other University of Nottingham library.
