Funding open for Black History Month 2022 celebrations

July 20th, 2022

As part of the university’s ongoing commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, we are inviting applications for the celebration of Black history, culture, and achievements to take place during Black History Month in October 2022.

The national theme this year is Time for Change: Action not Words, so we would encourage colleagues to think about how we create or share meaningful action.

We would particularly encourage events that align with some of our Race Equality Charter priorities for the year (reward, recognition, and progression of Black staff, or addressing the degree awarding gap).

Funding will be awarded to host local events or activities to a maximum of £200 with applications to be assessed by the race equality theme leads.
