First Sphere conference on Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

The university is pleased to invite you to the first ever Sphere conference on Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).

We aim to bring the university community together to share research and best practice in the field of EDI.

This online conference is free and open to all staff, students, and alumni.

Date and time: Tuesday 29 June 2021, 1:30pm

The conference will include:

  • A panel discussion chaired by Sam Hawkins (SU Liberations Officer). Panellists include Ian Kidd (Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy), Cheryl Ruse (Head of Operations – Precision Imaging Beacon, BAME staff network champion for Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences) and Operations and Facilities representative (TBC )
  • A talk about EDI through a Technicians’ Lens by Kelly Vere MBE (Director of Technical Skills & Strategy) and Jodie Chatfield (Technical Services Manager)
  • A talk about EDI in the Digital World and Public Engagement by Professor Louise Mullany (English), Dr Jacqueline Cordell (English) and Dr Claire Burrage (Physics)
  • Information about projects funded by the SPHERE Programme Board
