Changes to Complaints and Conduct procedures

September 13th, 2017

There will be a number of changes to Complaints and Conduct procedures*, effective from the start of the next academic session. The changes were approved by QSC in May this year.

In summary:

  1. All policies and procedures will use the term ‘supporter’ to describe the person who accompanies a student to meeting, hearings etc. The pool from which the supporter can be drawn will be limited to: SU Education Adviser (or equivalent at UNNC/UMNC), fellow student, member of staff, Union representative (eg BMA, RCN)
  2. Statements have been included in procedures to define the role of the supporter
  3. A new Communications with Third Parties policy will be introduced. (Please click here to view the policy in PDF format)
  4. An Unacceptable Behaviour policy will be introduced in respect of the behaviour of students engaging with Complaints and Conduct procedures. (Please click here to view the policy in PDF format).
