Brexit: Letter by Chris Heaton-Harris MP

October 25th, 2017

See below for a message on behalf of University Executive Board regarding a letter from Mr Chris Heaton-Harris MP.

Colleagues will be aware of recent media reporting surrounding a letter sent to all Vice-Chancellors from Mr Chris Heaton-Harris MP. In the context of Brexit, the letter requested names of staff teaching European affairs, copies of syllabus and links to lectures.

The Vice-Chancellor will not be replying to the letter.

A constant value of our University, indeed of all universities, is that academic freedoms are to be cherished and that the personal views of academics have no bearing on their ability to deliver stimulating, challenging courses which include a full range of views and opinions.
