Book your free winter flu jab

July 18th, 2022

The Boots free winter flu jab programme is now open.

The university wants to support all our employees to stay fit and healthy this coming winter, and whilst the risks from coronavirus continue, we all need to take a bit of extra care about our health and accessing a flu jab may be a step you wish to take this year (whether or not you have done so previously).

Accessing a flu vaccination

Free NHS Flu Vaccination
If you are eligible for a free NHS flu jab, please get in touch with your GP Surgery to arrange for this. This now includes those aged over 50. Details about who is eligible can be found on the NHS Flu Vaccination pages.

You will normally be able to get an appointment which is outside of your working hours.  However, if this is not possible, for the winter 22/23 season, you may take reasonable paid time-off in agreement with your line manager to enable you time to have the vaccination.

Private Flu Vaccinations – Boots Flu Voucher
To help protect our colleagues, the university will be making Boots Flu Jab vouchers available free of charge to all employees who have been unable to/are not eligible to get the free NHS vaccination via their GP.

The Boots vouchers can be used at participating Boots stores. Pre-booking is required.

To request a voucher please fill in the form using the button below and you will be emailed a voucher to your University of Nottingham email address.

Request a flu voucher here

Once you have received your voucher you will be able to book your flu vaccination by following the link in your voucher.

The vouchers expire on Tuesday 31 January 2023 – so staff are encouraged to request their voucher before the end of December 2022 to allow time to book an appointment.

For further information please see our list of frequently asked questions.

Please note that the number of Boots free flu vouchers available are limited, therefore the scheme will close once this number has been reached.
