A free website has been launched at the University to improve care for people with dementia.
The Improve Dementia Education and Awareness (IDEA) site makes quality courses and resources available, nationally and internationally, with the aim of improving care and quality of life for those with dementia.
Aimed at all levels of expertise, from family and friends who care for someone with dementia to qualified health professionals, IDEA offers online discussion groups to allow users to exchange information and to support each other.
The project is being developed under the direction of the University’s Professor Justine Schneider (pictured) and Dr Beverley Smith, supported by experts from Nottingham University Hospitals and Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust.
The website has been funded by East Midlands businessman and honorary Nottingham graduate Professor Tony Marmont (Hon DSc1998) through Nottingham University Hospitals Charity.
