The family of 1956 alumnus Malcolm Warwick, who achieved a 1st class honours degree in Russian and Slavonic Studies and who died in January 2010, have carried out his wish to create an endowment fund for year abroad scholarships.
Every year from 2012/13 The Malcolm Warwick Year Abroad Scholarships fund will provide £2,500 each to two students spending their third year in Russia or Serbia — a compulsory part of a language degree.
The University of Nottingham’s Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies is a renowned and internationally recognised centre for its excellent research and teaching. It is delighted to receive this generous gift and is keen to extend its support. For details, please contact Simon Buttenshaw on +44 (0)115 951 3998 or e-mail: simon.buttenshaw@nottingham.ac.uk
