Fun for all the family at Picnic in the Park

June 13th, 2016

What better place to enjoy a picnic than the beautiful landscaped grounds of University Park? Throw in live music and a host of free activities and you’ve got a perfect way to spend a summer’s afternoon.

Picnic in the Park takes place between noon and 3pm on Sunday 26 June in the Millennium Garden, University Park.

As well as performances by the award-winning Newstead Brass Band, there’ll be face-painting, rocket-making with an environmental artist and a children’s nature quest trail. You can find out more about the rich biodiversity of the campus by trying pond-dipping between 1pm and 2pm.

David Beadle, University Park’s Grounds Manager and a member of the Friends of University Park, said: “University Park is one of Nottingham’s green jewels and we’re proud to invite members of the public and the wider community to enjoy our lovely grounds and gardens with us.”

Refreshments are also available and the nearby Orchard Hotel has a bar and restaurant. You could also extend your day with a visit to the exhibitions and café at Nottingham Lakeside Arts.

Use any of campus entrances and follow signs to the ‘park event’. Admission and parking are free. If you would like to help with the Picnic or require further information, call David Beadle, Grounds Manager, on 0115 951 3605 or email david.beadle@nottingham.ac.uk
