Works were due to take place on Station Road (near Sutton Bonington Campus) from Monday 6 July to facilitate the electrification of the East Midlands Mainline Railway.
However, plans to electrify the East Midlands Mainland Railway have been suspended and these works will not be going ahead. Travel to Sutton Bonington over the Station Road railway bridge will therefore be unaffected.

In light of yesterday’s announcement that electrification of this line is to be postponed, has it been confirmed that the work on the bridge will still go ahead?

Thank you for raising this. The Estates Office sent through an update this morning to confirm that the works will not be going ahead, and the article has been amended to reflect this.
Best wishes,
